History: | A proposal to change the name Galena river to Fever River was initiated by U.S. Board on Geographic Names (USBGN) staff in June 1992. The proposal was rejected by the USBGN on September 8, 1994, and it was decided that the name Galena River would be retained;in 1991 the WI Assembly passed Bill 647 which restored that portion of the Galena River in WI to Fever River. |
